Tonight: Convergence At Joe’s Pub

a staged reading by Karen Chilton happens tonight at Joe’s Pub starring a BroadwayBlack favorite, Sharon Washington (Wild With Happy, Scottsboro Boys). the show is billed as:

A five-character play set on Chicago’s Gold Coast, writer/actor Karen Chilton’s latest work CONVERGENCE uses the relationship between a prominent psychiatrist and her schizophrenic patient to explore the dynamics of class and community. The play’s rhythmic style uses jazz as a metaphor as the dialogue between the characters flows from melodious and harmonious to discordant and cacophonous.

The show also stars Reg E. Cathey from the “The Wire”, Francois Battiste who we just saw in Detroit 67, Crystal A. Dickinson of Clybourne Park and currently starrring in The Call which we will see soon, Brian D. Coats (On the Levee, Invisible Man) and Lizan Mitchell (Having Our Say, HBO’s “John Adams”). The music has been done by Xavier Davis.

This is going to be an interesting night and BroadwayBlack will be in the house tonight. Hope to see you there!
