Oprah Winfrey Says Broadway Is In Her Future + A Miniseries With George C. Wolfe

Making the rounds promoting her return to the screen in the much talked about new Lee Daniels film ‘The Butler’, Oprah Winfrey, who has been known to love the stage and even produced the screen to stage adaption of The Color Purple, says that Broadway doesn’t look so far out of reach for her. According to The New York Daily News Winfrey is looking for the right piece.

“Yeah, Broadway is definitely in my future. Nothing is set as of yet, but it’s there. I see it. Broadway is in my future.”

It’s only right that she takes her time and finds something that suits her and something that she’s passionate about. When that happens we know people will be in line for days to see her on The Great White Way. It’s Oprah for goodness sakes. Let’s just pray its not a musical. We love you, Mother O! Come to Broadway soon!!!

“I feel no urgency,” she said. “Though I do feel a sense of, what do I do next? Because for so long, for so many years, the Oprah show was the great love of my life.”

Also on her plate is a possible miniseries about the Harlem Renaissance that she’s been in talks with famed Broadway writer/director and Tony Winner, George C. Wolfe, that should appear on her netowrk, OWN. We would love to see that today but according to the article NY Daily News she has other things that will come first. All we can say is just don’t forget about this project. We want it!

WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE OPRAH PERFORM ON BROADWAY???
