Maurice Hines Premieres Apollo Club Harlem Revue

The legendary Maurice Hines (Hot Feet, Guys & Dolls) who started out performing as a child with his brother Gregory Hines (R.I.P) at the historical Apollo Theatre, will take it back to golden days with his Apollo Club Harlem Revue.

Featuring performers of several kinds, Jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater, jazz performer Cecile Salvant, street dancer Storyboard P, and tap dancer Dormeshia, will be highlighted and supported by several dancers and musicians.

The show is like Cotton Club meets Idlewild in our minds and will premiere tonight at the Apollo Theatre with two other performances on Feb. 22 and 23.

Hines directed and choreographed the revue, and he will also be the host of the evening. It is meant to feel like a real-life nightclub so there won’t be any standard style orchestra seating. In its place will be nightclub table seating and table service will be provided.

You’re in for a real treat, especially since the costuming will be done by BroadwayBlack favorite, Project Runway star, and Tony nominee Esosa!!! He always dazzles things up just right. For more information on the show and tickets visit Apollo Club Harlem
