Big News for Broadway Week 2014

It’s no secret that Broadway ticket pricing has become more and more of a deterrent for those seeking to experience the magic of the stage. With iconic shows such as Wicked and The Lion King having ticket prices nearing the $200 mark, and newer shows like The Book of Mormon and Newsies nearing those prices, the status symbol of attending a Broadway play is nearing the popularity of the art being presented. For the first time ever, this year Broadway tickets averaged above $100, and as we mentioned, some shows and seats going for significantly more.

In order to help bridge the gap and make enjoying the experience of attending a Broadway show more attainable New York’s tourism office, NYC & Company are introducing a Fall 2014 Broadway Week with 2 for 1 ticket specials!

Information and show lists were announced Monday and featured some shows in preview such as You Can’t Take It With You starring James Earl Jones, and This is Our Youth with Michael Cera, but there were also some new heavyweights like Motown the Musical and Aladdin. Not to be left out, if you’re travelling from far away, or just want to see a classic, Phantom of the Opera, The Lion King, Pippin, Wicked and a number of other staples are available as well.

Sales start on August 18th and ticket prices for the better seats priced at half off plus $20. This is an opportunity you don’t want to miss so be sure to have you calendar marked and your funds allocated because these tickets are sure to go fast! For more info visit the NYC Go site here.
